Kochere is a small town in Ethiopia, nearby and south of the famous Yirgacheffe region. One of our favourite coffees around the roastery is the natural process Yirgacheffe Guji, so we brought in another coffee from nearby to compare it to. The beans themselves have the characteristic oval shape, and when roasted light, take on a nice even orangeish colour. The Kochere has less of a berry note, and is more floral and herbaceous on the nose and in the cup.

This coffee grows at 1900 meters above sea level and is naturally processed. We roasted it at 415 degrees, making it a light roast, that is not too sour compared to other natural coffees. It tastes like black tea and smells like lavender - a delicate and easy drinking coffee!

A very nice aroma over the beans, the grind and the coffee. A very pleasant coffee to start or end the day.

Delicious!

This was a really great cup of coffee. I thought it was so interesting that one of the notes was supposed to be "black tea", and as soon as I took a sip I was shocked that I could actually taste it! Really cool to try a different Yirgacheffe roast.
