Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Guji
This is an ideal example of naturally processed Ethiopian coffee. Dried with the fruit fully intact on the bean on raised beds, this traditional preparation imparts wild, fermented and fruity flavours into the cup. A light roast preserves the distinct characteristics of the origin and process.
The service at Fire Roasted is very good. I believe the coffee is good too, but if you like “light roast” you may be disappointed. Imo it’s medium or darker. I am very particular but, I couldn’t drink it. I gave it to some friends who like a darker roast.
This coffee had an amazingly complex flavour. The lemony notes are defintely apparent. I purchased out of curiousity as to what coffee can be. I was pleasantly surprised. Is this my favourite coffee? No. Would make it my new morning brew? No. But it is great as a nice light, colourful mid day pick me up.
4 delicious stars.
This is our favourite coffee. These beans (grind just before making coffee) work well in French press and as espresso in the Rocket Appartamento model espresso machine. This Ethiopian coffee has a deep rich flavour.
I've enjoyed Ethiopia Yirgacheffe in the past and the rich flavours it delivered made it one of my favourite coffees. Unfortunately, this is not among them. Despite the light roast and the promised flavours, all it seems to deliver is a slight aftertaste of burnt beans. Very disappointing.
After usually opting for French Roast and darker coffee blends, we’ve recently migrated to lighter coffee roasts and single origin coffees as they really highlight the different nuances of flavours. The Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Guji has become a favourite for it’s light well balanced flavour that can be enjoyed any time of the day or night, no bitterness and delicious every time. Goes great with fruit or sweets, yummy Yirgacheffe is Super Good.
